Asif Nawaz ShahResearch Assistant
Asif is a Research Assistant with the Governance cluster at IDEAS, working on a project exploring local government capacity challenges in Punjab. He has a Bachelor’s degree from Columbia University, where he explored the design and effectiveness of international economic, environmental and legal policy frameworks. Before joining IDEAS, Asif worked on urban policy issues with C40 Cities, supporting project coordination for 16 thematic peer-to-peer city networks across energy, transportation, air quality and waste management. Asif is passionate about sustainable urban development, and through his research, looks to unearth and unlock barriers to effective policy implementation in Pakistani cities.
